This is the finished cloak minus the binding for the neck seams finished in time for Katsucon 2009! This is the long-labored cloak that went with Belle's Pink Winter Dress that I had originally intended to wear to Anime USa but oh well. Using a whopping 8 yards of Red Premium Velvet and lining and 4-5 yards of white fur trim (handsewn on) it is a monster that is finally complete! I merged a lot of different patterns together to make this one and to accomodate the heavy of the back I added a hidden placket to the front capelet and used whopper popper snaps to put it together. Then an extra strip of white fur was placed to hide the odd seams puckering of the snaps. There's even a pretty gold neck clasp at the neck of the cape to hold it together and make it look pretty! The lining is a wrinkly piece of crap but oh well, it's finished and I still have enough velcet scraps to make the red belt, satchel and hairbows for Scarlett O'Hara's White Prayer Dress from Gone With the Wind. Yay fabric saving!

Hello! I am wondering you either a) are selling this cloak, b) do commissions, or c) would be willing to share your pattern with me? Please let me know! Love your work!

I am willing to either sell this original cloak or do a commission to make one for you if you would like for your very own.

So sorry it's taken me a while to respond. How much would a cloak similar to this cost?

:iconallengale:
Well I am selling this cloak for $150 due to all the work that went into making it and the materials such as the Premier Red Velvet which retails 27 a yard and all the fur trimming I had to buy and its lined. To make a cloak like this with the same amount of detail and high quality materials it would cost around $250-275

well depends on the material and such. This one was made with premium velvet and lined with satin and handtrimmed with fur so this one would run a bit more. If you have a picture of what you were thinking of let me know or if you can draw one out I can easily make that happen for you.
